CASE STUDY MY TIME

OVERVIEW

MY TIME is a calendar app idea that incorporates minimalistic design, clear operation, and dynamic functionality to help maintain and organize any type of schedule one may have.

My idea for this app is that it automatically creates a schedule or an organized guideline that takes the user’s input and goals and generates a schedule when to work on them. This way, if the user puts in times they should work on specific tasks, not just due dates, the app will send them a reminder and a schedule when and how long to work on each task.

This can expand with sharing between users, including teachers and students or businesses and employees for clear communication.

PROBLEM

Many may be tasked with keeping a routine schedule for classes, work, homework, appointments, meetings, etc. This busy schedule often leads to time-management roadblocks, overlapping plans, etc, resulting in not having enough time and missing the planned activity.

Traditional methods have shown difficulty when sharing schedules with other people or when moving data between systems. The limited physical space makes scheduling far in advance difficult. Lastly, recurring events need to be entered manually.

USERS AND AUDIENCE

The target user would be individuals from ages 24-34 who struggle with time management.

ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

For this project I worked alone and was responsible for the UI design, UX design, wire framing, and prototyping of this app concept.

SCOPE AND CONSTRAINTS

This project was designed with the prototyping tool Figma.

OUTCOMES AND RESULTS

Although MY TIME was never fully published, I believe this app covered the primary features that many apps of the day were lacking. This was a great exploration of App design, and as far as taking this app further, I believe incorporating AI into the background would help solidify the functionality to organize and customize a personal schedule in real time.
